I mentioned in today’s Thankfulness post how wonderful our neighbor is. One of the many great things about her is that she looks after our cats when we travel. Since we are overprotective pet-parents, it is very important that our girls are safe and looked after when we’re away. Being the kind of woman that she is, she will not let us pay her. We’ve tried gift cards to get it past her, and she tried to give it back. 
So now we try to find a special gift from wherever it is we’re traveling to as our way of thanking her.
This week we were in Missouri visiting family for the Thanksgiving holiday. And one of the special items that this particular part of Missouri is known for is the handmade Walnut wood bowls. They are beautiful and will last a very long time.
But I can’t just give a bowl.
So I grabbed some seasonal fruit (those cute little Smarties tangerines) and wrapped it in a bow, and voila!
Here is an angle where you can see the bowl a little bit better.
This would make a really nice hostess gift as well. This particular combo works for fall, but you could obviously swap it up with any fruit, veggies from your garden – whatever is local and fresh would be wonderful.

Love that you filled the bowl with fruit and the bow makes it look really festive. I have a really cute little mouse shaped cheese knife I got to give as a gift, but I keep giving something else instead because it doesn’t seem like enough, but now you’ve got me thinking if I just gave it tied to a nice block of cheese with a pretty ribbon….
