Basket Weave Scarf

I finished up my latest crochet scarf last night. This one was so fun! It looked really intimidating, but was pretty easy once I figured it out and got going.

Here’s another shot to show off the stitch, and where the color is probably more accurate.

This was another great pattern from the Noggins and Necks book I bought when I first got started. It uses the double crochet, but with a twist of working in front of or behind the “posts” in the row below. So far I’ve loved each and every pattern and look forward to making them all!

I’m ADDICTED to crocheting! I’m in the middle of a wrap and will be starting on a couple more scarves in the next week as well. Once I get through the projects I’m making for Christmas gifts, I may even start making some available for sale. :-)

Pretty and looks very warm. Nice job!

  2. I love the basketweave stitch. I made a scarf last year out of it and it makes for the thickest, most comfy scarf! Thanks for sharing at Hookin On Hump Day!

Thanks for stopping by, Sara! It’s one of my favorite stitches – can’t wait to make a blanket out of it. Like you said – it’s so thick and warm, I just want to bundle up under it. :-)
