30 Days of Thankfulness Day 8

Today I’m thankful for modern technologies. I know this may not be very “country” but I’m a geek at heart and am so thankful to live in an era where I have these conveniences. Things like:

The Internet

Seriously what did we do without the Internet? “Google” searching anything, blogging, FaceTime/Skype…the Internet has given us so many ways to stay connected. It’s also given me my alternative to cable with sites like Hulu.com and Netflix. Yay!

My Gadgets

I know my ability to have read 50 books so far this year is due to getting a Kindle Fire for Christmas last year and always have books in my purse. My “smart phone” that is often smarter than me, but puts the world at my fingertips. We also have an iPad, PS3, Wii, 3 computers (not counting my work computer)

Telecommuting Technologies

Things like web sessions and unlimited long distance phone service allow me to work from home and that means work from anywhere. So thankful for that!

Electricity and Appliances

Yeah, I like electricity. And my refrigerator, freezer, stove, microwave. This is particularly close to home when you look at what the East Coast is currently suffering in Sandy’s wake.

Anything “modern” that you’re particularly thankful for?

Day 8: I’m so thankful to have amazing friends, near and far! They are my outlet for laughter, listening, and joy. They help keep me sane, especially on days when I need some “adult” interaction!

Friends really do round out life and make it so much more enjoyable, huh? And you’re such a great friend to everyone around you!
