It’s a fresh new year! Time to share some goals. I have just three main themes that I’ll follow this year:
Be Gentle With Myself
This was one of my goals from last year and served me very well. I’m still learning how to put myself first, how to ask for (and accept) help, and to not feel guilty for saying No. I’m also getting over any guilt of sleeping when I need to, including naps and being in bed by 10pm; and overall just listening to my body and giving it what it needs. So, I shall continue this journey in 2016.
Focus on Business Goals
Over the holidays, we spent an entire day in a business planning session for Azalea Pine Bathworks. I have key business activities and a product launch schedule for each month of the ENTIRE YEAR! It’s aggressive but doable, and this really needs to be a key focus for me this year. I’ll be sharing behind the scenes sneak peeks via Azalea Pine’s Instagram and Facebook accounts – and may share a peek or two here.
Read More, Play Games Less
Ok, so I have to come clean and admit that I’m still a Candy Crush addict, and have since added Soda Crush and Bubble Witch Saga 2 to my addiction. In all three games, I am either the farthest ahead of any of my friends (who play and connect their Facebook accounts) or within the top 2-3. I really use the games to zone out and let my mind stop spinning. But if I used even a percentage of that time to read more, then I should easily reach my reading goals. So, I’d like to try and keep game playing to a minimum (mostly while watching TV), and if I am playing games otherwise then I’d like to also be listening to an audiobook. (I’ve been doing that over the past couple days and it’s been GREAT!). I’ll put up a separate post about my specific reading goals.
While I will be also be focusing on overall health (eating well, exercising), I am consciously NOT setting it as a goal for 2016. The reason for that is that I want to focus on that as an overall lifestyle change, and not a “diet”. Nor do I want to curse it with the opportunity to “break” my resolution or goal. So I will share fun new recipes I find (especially those for the slow cooker!), ways I’m minimizing chemicals in my home and in/on my body, and other healthy tid bits; just not part of any year-specific goals.
Do you make resolutions or goals each year? If so, what are your goals for 2016?
