I’ve committed to following along with Little Bird Knits for the 2013 Crochet Along. The idea is that you crochet a single granny square each week for 48 weeks, and then assemble it into a completed afghan by the end of the year. Cool, right? It’s also a great way to use up small scraps or leftovers of your yarn.
Week 1’s pattern was a simple granny square which is a great way to get started even if you’re new to crochet. In addition to submitting pictures of my completed squares each week, I’ll be putting up a post to share with all of you too. So here is my square for the first week.
Are you participating? Join in! This is a fun way to commit to just a short amount of crocheting each week.
UPDATE: End the end of week 4, I looked back at my squares and decided I wanted to use only five colors for the whole challenge (so that the resulting blanket would be more coordinated). While I liked the idea of it being a mish-mash of whatever I felt like that week, I changed my mind. So I re-did this square and wanted to share an updated version.
